5th Annual Garfield Park Conservatory St. Patricks Day Pond Dye

WHAT:
The Garfield Park Conservatory will be dyeing their ponds green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day for the fifth year in a row.  Remote-controlled toy boats will be used to help stir the dye, replicating the time-honored St. Patrick’s Day tradition of dyeing the Chicago River.

WHO:
Chicago Park District conservatory staff and visitors will be on hand to kick off the ceremonial dyeing of the ponds at Garfield Park Conservatory.
 
WHERE:
Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 N. Central Park Ave. 
Fern Room (west end)
 
WHEN:
Thursday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m. 
 
DETAILS:  
The dye being utilized for the ponds is environmentally safe.  
 
Editors Note: The climate in the Fern Room is humid.  Please notify camera operators that their lenses may fog up.  Arrive early to allow cameras to adjust to conditions.
