More than 4,000 adults and children are expected at the 10th anniversary of the Spring Egg-Stravaganza, the largest free candy grab in Chicago, at Soldier Field Stadium, 1410 S. Museum Campus Dr., Saturday, March 23. A ticketed breakfast will be held at the United Club from 8:30-10 a.m. The admission-free festival begins at 9 a.m. featuring the candy grab on the field at 10 a.m.
Children ages 10 years and younger are welcome to participate in this event presented by Dominick’s. The fun will be broadcast on the stadium’s two super-sized 23’ x 82’ video screens for parents to cheer from the sidelines.
“This popular event is a wonderful opportunity for Chicagoans to celebrate spring and to experience the historic stadium,” said Michael Kelly, General Superintendent and CEO of the Chicago Park District.
There is currently an art contest open to all youths through 8th grade to submit a color drawing of Soldier Field that depicts Chicago in the spring. The winning drawing will be printed on the 2,000 commemorative wooden eggs given to all kids that come to the event. Cash and prizes are given to first through third-place entries. Kids are encouraged to enter their drawing by Monday, Feb. 18 to Soldier Field, Egg-Stravaganza Art Contest, 1410 S. Museum Campus Dr., Chicago, IL 60605.
Before the candy grab, children will have the opportunity to have breakfast with the bunny and take photos at Soldier Field’s United Club from 8:30 - 10 a.m. Admission to the breakfast is $17.50 for adults, $12 for children under age 10, and free for children under age 3 with a paying adult. Reservations are required for breakfast and must be made by Friday, March 22 by calling 312-235-7162 or emailing email@example.com.
