Celebrate the Earth with the Chicago Park District and Friends of the Parks!
Join the Chicago Park District, Friends of the Parks and a couple hundredvolunteers to celebrate Earth Day activities at various park locations and dates throughout Chicago. Help give back to the earth by participating in a community park clean-up event or celebration.
“Earth Day is a great time for us to come together and give back to our planet,” said Chicago Park District General Superintendent Mike Kelly. “The Park District offers the community a chance to get outdoors and connect to nature through various volunteer opportunities and events we offer throughout the city.”
Friends of the Parks is hosting the official Earth Day Clean-Up event on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Humboldt Park, 1400 S. Sacramento Blvd. The park clean-up will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. Afterwards enjoy entertainment and activities such as music, community resources and more from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Humboldt Park Boathouse, 1359 N.
