Chicago Park District Issues Temporary Swim Bans Due to Dense Fog and Low Visibility
7/19/2011
The Chicago Park District issued a temporary swim ban at all beaches, except for 12thStreet Beach, due to dense fog and low visibility as a safety precaution. Once the fog dissipates, the swim bans will be lifted.
Note: swim bans or advisories may be posted by lifeguards at the beach based on weather conditions. Beach patrons are reminded to check the flag status at the beach before swimming.
