CITYWIDE OUTDOOR ICE RINKS OPEN NOV. 26
Skating Season Runs Through February 26 at Most Rinks

Work off Thanksgiving calories by hitting one of the Chicago Park District’s outdoor ice skating rinks when they open for the season Saturday, Nov. 26. Skating season runs through Sunday, Feb. 26 at most outdoor rinks, weather permitting. Click here to watch a video on ice skating at Chicago Park District rinks.

Hours and skate rental prices vary. Please note there is an admission fee at The Rink at Wrigley and at McFetridge Sports Center in California Park, an indoor rink that is open year round except August. All other rinks offer free admission. Concessions are available at select rinks. Rink rental is also available for special events and parties; contact the rink manager.

The rinks at McFetridge Sports Center and Daley Bicentennial Plaza offer learn to skate lessons for a fee. See below for registration dates.

The Chicago Park District operates the following 10 ice rinks:

Open skate hours:
Monday-Friday, 1-9 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, 3:30-8:30 p.m.
Teen skate every Friday, 5-7 p.m.
$7 skate rental; admission free. Group reservations are available during open skate hours. Call the park for further details. Learn to skate classes are offered for youth ages 3-12. Online registration begins Monday, Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. and in-person Saturday, Dec. 3.

Indoor rink; open skate hours:
All ages: Wednesday and Friday, 3:30 - 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 4:30-6 p.m.
Adults: Wednesday, 9:15 - 10:30 p.m.
Teens and adults: Friday, 9:15 - 10:45 p.m.

$3 skate rental; admission is $4 for children 12 and younger, $5 for ages 13 and older, and $2 for seniors 60 and older. Food concessions are available. Learn to skate classes are offered for youth and adults. In-person registration begins Wednesday, Nov. 9 for classes that begin Nov. 12 and Wednesday, Jan. 18 for classes that begin Monday, Jan. 23.

Admission Fridays-Sundays is $10 per adult, $6 for children ages 12 and under and may be purchased on site for the morning, afternoon or evening sessions. Skate rentals Fridays-Sundays are $10. Admission and skate rentals are half price Mondays – Thursdays.
