Donald J. Edwards

Donald J. EdwardsDonald J. Edwards is the Managing Principal of Flexpoint Ford, LLC, a private equity investment firm with $1.0 billion under management focused on healthcare and financial services.  Prior to founding Flexpoint, Mr. Edwards was a Principal at GTCR, a Chicago-based private equity firm with more than $6.0 billion under management.  During his eight-year tenure at GTCR, Mr. Edwards served as head of the firm’s healthcare investment effort.  Prior to joining GTCR, Mr. Edwards was an investment banker at Lazard Ltd. where he focused on mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Edwards earned a BS degree in finance with highest honors from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar.

Mr. Edwards is a Director of World Business Chicago, a Trustee of the Museum of Contemporary Art and a Director of the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.  Mr. and Mrs. Edwards have established endowed scholarships at the University of Illinois and at Harvard University.

Mr. Edwards has lived in Chicago for the past 19 years and currently lives in Lincoln Park with his wife of 23 years Anne, and their three children Alexandra, Annabel and Daniel.
