Department Overview

budgetThe Office of Budget and Management is responsible for the preparation and oversight of the operating and capital budgets, grant management, administration of performance management initiatives, and financial analysis of the Chicago Park District for long-term fiscal planning.

The Office of Budget and Management analyzes Regional and Departmental budget requests, identifies issues and provides information to help Departmental officials make resource decisions which are incorporated into the Annual Appropriations Ordinance.


2009 - 2012 GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award Winner

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) presented a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to the Chicago Park District for its annual budget for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2012. In order to receive this award, a government unit must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an operations guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications device.
