Apply to be the Next Artistic Curator

The Chicago Park District’s Theater on the Lake: The Chicago Summer Theater Festival at Fullerton Avenue and Lake Shore Drive is looking for one new individual to serve as co-artistic curator for a two-year term beginning with the 2014 season.

In June 2012, Theater on the Lake celebrated its 60thanniversary.  To mark the occasion and in an effort to foster greater involvement with the local performing arts community, Theater on the Lake kicked off its new rotating, co-artistic curator initiative.

Under the new model, one individual will serve as co-artistic curator for a two-year term together with the artistic curator from the previous season.  Together they will work collaboratively in selecting the next season at Theater on the Lake.

Candidate selection is representative of the city’s diverse theater artists, both in terms of discipline and artistic achievement.  Each year, the artistic curators will have an opportunity to present their favorite pieces to the Theater on the Lake audience and engage in an active discussion around their choices.

Previous artistic curators were Meghan McCarthy and Michael Patrick Thornton in 2012 and Joanie Schultz and Halena Kays in 2013.

Interested candidates can click here to access the application. The deadline is SEPTEMBER 12, 2013.
