The Garfield Park Conservatory is one of the world’s largest gardens under glass.

Dense rainforest, the desert cactus, and velvety moss create the perfect backdrop for any special event.

Experience the sights and fragrances of a wide variety of flowers and plants, all in their natural settings.

Spacious rooms feature stone paths that wind through the breathtaking gardens.

With separate space dedicated to special events, seasonal décor, and a children’s garden, this destination is perfect for large sit down dinner functions or smaller, less formal occasions.

  • Public spaces are not available until after 5pm daily.
  • The Conservatory does not set-up or clean up. It is the sole responsibility of the client.
  • The Community Room is available to not-for-profit, community groups and educational groups Monday-Wednesday at no charge.
  • Reservations are accepted on a first come first served basis.
  • Users must be residents of the City of Chicago
  • Users may reserve the room no more than once per month and may be moved should the room be needed for a Conservatory function.
  • Fee includes 7-hour will be charged accordingly.
  • Any event surpassing the 7 hours will be charged accordingly.
  • The Conservatory does not rent equipment.
  • The client is responsible for un-stacking and restacking the tables and chairs if they choose to use the current inventory.
  • Above fees do not include catering charges.
  • All events to conclude by 11pm.

Additional Services and Fees:

Birthday Breakfast Package
  • Includes the use of the Jensen Room for a (2) two hour period from 9:00-11:00am or 11:00am-1:00pm daily.
  • The price also includes use of chairs and tables from existing inventory.
  • The total cost is $150.

Equipment Rental
Security
  • Required to use Chicago Park District Security personnel.
  • One security guard is required for every 75 people.
  • A minimum of three security guards is required if the entire facility is rented.
  • Security fee: $25 per hour, per security guard.
Insurance
  • The Chicago Park District requires any individual or group hosting an event on Chicago Park District property to obtain a certificate of insurance. Serving alcohol will require additional insurance coverage. For more information, please call 312-742-5369.
Additional Hours
  • $250 per hour for any event.
Electricity
  • There is limited electrical power available.
  • Generators may be rented to meet electrical needs.
Deposit Policy
  • An Event booking is not secure until an executed Permit Agreement and non-refundable deposit is received by the CPD.
  • The total non-refundable Room Permit Fee is due upon execution of the Permit Agreement for Events under $250.
  • The CPD deposit policy for an indoor Special Use Site, upon execution of the Permit Agreement, is a minimum non-refundable deposit of $375 or 25% of the Room Permit Fee whichever is greater.
  • The remaining deposits for Room Permit Fees, CPD reimbursements (expenses) and Security Deposits are due no less than sixty (60) days prior to the Event.
  • The Permittee may cancel an Event with a full refund by submitting a written confirmation in writing to the CPD up to 180 days prior to the Event.
  • The Security Deposit for an Indoor Special Use Site is the Room Permit Fee up to a maximum of $500.
  • There is a security charge of $140 for events of 300 people or less.
