Request for Proposal (RFP) for design & construction administration services for the renovation of the Independence Park bungalow, its garage, and the immediate surround, with the focus on green building initiatives. The scope of services includes the work routinely performed by architects, such as site investigations, restoration design, engineering design, cost analyses, permitting, construction document preparation, and construction administration. The renovation itself will include the repair / restoration of the clay tile roof, the restoration of the window & doors, the installation of all-new mechanical systems for energy efficiency,and the upgrade ofthe lighting, plumbing, and architectural finishes to meet the Chicago Historic Bungalow initiative guidelines. Independence Park as a whole is being nominated for registry in the National Registry of Historic Places. There will be a PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2008, in the Lower Level conference room of the Administration Building, 541 North Fairbanks Court. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly recommended.
