The Attempters: The House Theatre of Chicago
From the rich imagination of Shawn Pfautsch, comes the story of Danny Hackles, a seventeen-year-old boy with a righteous guitar, a silver tongue and a chaotic mind who believes he is destined for fame. Marika Mashburn makes her directorial debut and writes, "Shawn has written a play about a boy who has been abandoned by his family, who seeks to fill that void with fame at any cost. Through his journey he must come to accept himself as he his; no tricks, no spectacle, and no speeches.
