SUMMER DAY CAMP SURVEY WINNERS ANNOUNCED

PRIZES INCLUDED FREE SUMMER DAY CAMP SLOT & A MOVIE IN THE PARK

Release Date: 09/28/09

The Chicago Park District extended its green practices to its program evaluation by taking its first online survey of the summer day camp. The online survey was offered in addition to a paper survey that was sent to day camp parents.

From a pool of 32,200 parents at 217 surveyed parks, 3,355 parents completed the survey for a 10 percent response rate.

The winner was randomly selected from the completed surveys. The first place prize went to a patron from Mayfair Park who won one free summer day camp slot for 2010.

The park with the highest percentage of survey respondents was rewarded with a Movie in the Park. Lawler Park received that prize and will receive a screening of the film Coraline on Friday, Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

The Chicago Park District strives to create a customer-focused and responsive park system by engaging in dialog with its users. Chicago Park District patrons are encouraged to give feedback on park programs through surveys and other methods.

Each summer, more than 30,000 children ages 6-12 enjoy fun at the pool, field trips, and exciting athletic and cultural activities as part of the six-week session day camp.
