Release Date: 03/13/09

Chicago Park District and Chicago Improv Festival Productions co-present the nation’s funniest teens at the third annual Teen Comedy Fest at Ridge Park, 9625 S. Longwood, Saturday, May 2 from 5-10:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students. Tickets are available on-line by clicking here or can be purchased at the door.

This year's festival is the largest one yet and features 11 teams from five states. The Chicago Improv Festival (CIF) has been partnering with the Park District for the last four years at the Ridge Park Cultural Center in the Beverly neighborhood to provide classes, develop an ensemble, and give teens an opportunity to perform. CIF also runs the Chicago Park District’s theater camp at Ridge Park.

This partnership is part of the Chicago Park District's cultural center initiative. Ridge Park is one of thirteen cultural center parks in the city that provide a variety of programming to ensure that parks serve as vital cultural spaces in our city. Each cultural center is designed to be a multi-dimensional, regional facility, serving as a community focal point that enhances the public education and enjoyment of the arts and humanities.
