10th ANNUAL “HOTHOUSE HOLIDAY” EVENT AT LINCOLN PARK CONSERVATORY

The 10thAnnual Hothouse Holiday event at the Lincoln Park Conservatory, 2391 N. Stockton Dr., will help raise money for the 122-year-old glass house with an auction of creative wreath art designed by local artists, designers and architects.
The special 10thyear celebration will be dedicated to the memory of Nancie Dodge Maremont, Hothouse Holiday’s first chairperson. This year, Hothouse Holiday will take place on Tuesday, December 4, at 6 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Conservatory with a delicious complimentary buffet, music and libations. Tickets are $100 for the event. There is limited complimentary parking available behind the Conservatory.
“Hothouse Holiday” is a benefit party to help support the Lincoln Park Conservatory. It features WreathArt, a silent auction of wreaths created by some of Chicago’s leading artists, architects and designers. Partygoers will have the opportunity to enjoy holiday music while surround by good cheer and merriment. There will also be a live auction featuring one-of-a-kind artwork by Dale Chihuly, Richard Hunt, Ed Paschke Estate and Victor Skrebneski.
The mission of the Lincoln Park Conservatory is to promote the appreciation, understanding and use of Chicago’s historic Lincoln Park Conservatory through development and funding of quality displays and educational programs, as well as position the Conservatory as a premier sightseeing and tourist destination.
The Lincoln Park Conservatory, owned and operated by the Chicago Park District, was designed by nationally renowned architect of the Victorian era Joseph Lyman Silsbee in collaboration with architect M.E. Bell. The Conservatory was built in phases between 1890 and 1895, replacing a small greenhouse that dated from the 1870s and was designed both to showcase exotic plants and to grow the thousands of plants needed for use in the parks, which it still does today.
