STORYTELLING IN THE PARKS RETURNS TO NORTH SIDE

No Experience Necessary; Just Bring Your Imagination

The timeless art of storytelling is a perfect way to discover extraordinary stories this summer.The Chicago Park District’s popular Storytelling in the Park series will have your imagination in high gear this summer by traveling no farther than your local park. The Chicago Park District will offer interactive story times at 27 intimate neighborhood park settings July 28 through August 1.

“In addition to movies and concerts, storytelling gives families another reason to gather in our parks this summer,” said Chicago Park District Region Manager Matt Marino.

Park District drama instructors will read and act out tales of adventure for 45-minutes per performance, using props, costumes and sound to enhance the story experience.Families are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs to settle closely around the action.Storytellers may ask audience members to participate.

The Chicago Park District encourages all ages to enjoy Storytelling in the Parks, and targets children ages 8 and under.Below is a list of performance locations, dates and times.
