DISCOVER WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING BUMP AT NIGHT AT “CREATURES OF THE NIGHT"

From bats to owls to spiders, discover how some creatures have special adaptations or “tricks” that help them roam in the dark, at “Creatures of the Night” a freeHalloween eventat the Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 N. Central Park Ave.on Saturday, October 25 from noon to 3p.m.

Families can meet live nocturnal animals like fruit bats, spiders, owls and more, as they make a rare daytime appearance at the Conservatory. Visitors will learn about the creatures’ ability to learn adaptation “tricks” and get a very special “treat” at special critter stations. Other fun activities include spider plantings, grow in the dark necklaces, bat origami and much more.

Garfield Park Conservatory is located just fifteen minutes west of downtown. From I-290, exit Independence Avenue(3800 west) and travel north. Turn east onto Washington Blvd. Turn north onto Central Park Avenue(3600 west).

Alternatively, take the CTA Green line and exit at Conservatory/Central Park Drive.

This year’s events are made even more special as the Conservatory celebrates its 100thbirthdaywith year-long events, themed “CHICAGOASIS: The Greenest Show on Earth.”
