The Chicago Park District proudly celebrates 75 years of recreation, events, competitions and programming. The Chicago Park District formally came into existence in 1934 and has been going strong ever since. The Chicago Park District is planning a year long celebration for its 75th anniversary with a variety of special events and programs, as well as a traveling history exhibit.
“We hope that Chicagoans join us in celebrating our 75th anniversary and at the same time I encourage them to visit their neighborhood parks for their recreation needs,” said Timothy J. Mitchell, Chicago Park District General Superintendent & CEO.
