The Chicago Park District presents an outdoor screening of Best I Can, a documentary about the Special Olympics, Sunday, July 26 at 8:30 p.m. at Northerly Island, 1400 S. Lynn White Dr. Admission is free, and free parking is available by the visitor center.
The documentary will make its Chicago premiere as part of the Movies in the Parks series. It will be broadcast on WTTW-TV channel 11 Sunday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m.
Best I Can offers a full perspective of the influence and evolution of the Chicago-born Special Olympics organization and the community it serves. The film covers how Special Olympics grew from a Chicago Park District competition to a global movement touching over 2.5 million athletes. The vision of founders Justice Anne M. Burke and Eunice Shriver are honored, and featured interviews include Christopher Kennedy and James Houlihan.

The Chicago Park District’s Movies in the Park series provides community residents with free, outdoor film entertainment in the safe environment of neighborhood parks across the city.
