Friends of Theater on the Lake Meet Jan. 16

Supporters of the Chicago Park District’s popular Theater on the Lake program, located in a historic building at Fullerton and Lake Shore Drive, recently formed Friends of Theater on the Lake. The group meets Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Margate Fieldhouse, 4921 N. The advocacy group comprised of Theater on the Lake subscribers and Chicago Park District associates will work year round to ensure a successful season. Some of the group’s goals for 2007 include creating a diverse lineup, increasing audience development and re-energizing patrons’ overall experience.
The 2007 Theater on the Lake season marks the 55th year that the Chicago Park District has been presenting the annual summer-long festival featuring the best of Chicago’s off-Loop theater. The 2007 season of entertaining plays from professional theater companies on the gorgeous lakeside setting will be announced in spring 2007. Performances begin Wednesday, June 13 and will run through August 12.
