THEATRE IN THE PARK: DANCING AT LUGHNASA PERFORMED AT SHEIL PARK

The Sheil Park Theatre Group will stage Dancing at Lughnasa by Irish playwright Brian Friel on Friday and Sunday, March 23 at 7:30 pm and March 25 at 2 pm at SheilPark, 3505 N. Southport Ave., in Chicago.This is an excellent opportunity for folks looking for an untraditional evening of theatre in the park.All tickets are $5 per person.

Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel, one of Ireland's most important playwrights, is the fictionalized memory of his childhood. The play is about five courageous, good-hearted women who attempt to fight their fate with extraordinary resilience, told from the point of view of a seven year old boy. Dancing at Lughnasa was first performed at the Abby Theater, in Dublin, in 1990, and garnered the 1991 Olivier Award.
