Celebrate the Earth with the Chicago Park District!

Participate in Various Community Park Clean Up Events in April and May!

Join the Chicago Park District and a couple hundredvolunteers to celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day activities at various park locations and dates throughout the city. Help give back to the earth by participating in a community park clean up event taking place in the months of April and May.

“Earth Day and Arbor Day is a great time for us to come together and give back to our planet,” said Chicago Park District General Superintendent Tim Mitchell. “Various parks and times are available for those interested in helping conserve our parks for future generations.”

The following is a sample list of Earth Day and Arbor Day activities:

Humboldt Park Earth Day Clean-up & Celebration

  • Hosted by: Chicago Park District and Friends of the Park
  • Saturday, April 18; 9am – 2pm
  • 9am – noon: Clean-up of the park with Friends of the Parks
  • 11 – 2pm: Celebration
  • HumboldtPark(at the Boathouse), 1359 N. Sacramento Boulevard

Make a difference on Earth Day by helping clean and preserve HumboldtPark. Afterwards enjoy entertainment and activities such as hands-on nature crafts, music, community resources and more. This event is free and for all ages. No registration required.

Volunteers will help enhance preserve habitats through invasive plant species removal, trail maintenance, or tree care. Suitable for individuals and families, not organized groups. Please call Bob to register at 312-744-5472, as this allows us to have sufficient supplies for everyone.

Green and Growing Fair

Celebrate the coming of spring with fellow Chicagoland gardeners! GreenNet, a coalition of local greening organizations invites the public to exciting gardening demonstrations, lectures, a plant sale and more.

Friends of the River Clean-Up
