Macbeth is scary, exciting, violent, bloody, poetic, deep and brief. A group of veteran actors and fresh talent will present William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” at Chase Park Theatre, 4701 N. Ashland, for thirteen performances October 20, 21, 23, 27, 28, November 3, 4,10,11,17, and 18 at 7:30 p.m. and two Sundays Nov 5 and 12 at 1:30 p.m.
Shakespeare's Scottish tragedy is about Macbeth's bloody rise to power, including the murder of the Scottish king, Duncan, and the guilt-ridden pathology of evil deeds generating still more evil deeds.
Under the direction of Chase Park drama instructor Karen Fort - Shakespeare’s classic, Macbeth is her tenth production since joining the staff at Chase Park. Enjoy the beautifully elaborate costumes of the Renaissance and exciting duels and sword fights co-choreographed by Dawn “Sam” Alden and Brenda Kelly of Babes with Blades.The finishing touches are added with the lighting design of Maggie Fullilove-Nugent and set and sound design of Keith Fort.
