Volunteer In the Parks!
As a Chicago Park District Volunteer there are a variety of options available for you to consider, such as coaching and sports instruction, environmental stewardship and conservatory support, tutors/mentors for after school programs and camps, special event support and corporate or group one-day service projects.
All long-term volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application. Long term indicates your willingness to support a local park on a regular basis. The information you provide will assist us in determining your interests and skills and will be utilized in determining the assignment that best suits you. Please indicate in the appropriate section, the park or program for which you wish to be considered.

Background Information
To ensure the safety and protection of children and other park patrons utilizing our parks and programs, all volunteer applicants are required to successfully complete a background check prior to becoming a volunteer. Once your application is received by the Volunteer Coordinator, a Fingerprint Authorization Form will be forwarded to you.
Corporate or Group One Day Service Projects
The Chicago Park District offers many opportunities for corporate and one day service project volunteers. Your service may include planting gardens, mulching trees, and other various park improvements. These events not only contribute to making Chicago’s Parks the beautiful destinations that they are, but also serve as opportunities for team building.
