DUTIES: Has direct charge of the equipment, operation and general care of heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, refrigeration, ice conditioning equipment, filtration and pumping equipment in a park building, swimming pool or field house including boilers, burners, fuel handling pumps, compressors, water purifying equipment, water heating appliances, fan blowers, air filters and other mechanical equipment.Fires the boiler, maintains water level in boiler and operates fans and accessory equipment.Writes reports of fuel consumed.Cleans and keeps in order the equipment and premises.Performs preventive maintenance and minor emergency repairs on mechanical equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Experience operating and maintaining heating, ventilating and cooling machinery and equipment, such as water heating appliances and central air-conditioning units is preferred.Previous experience in swimming pools maintenance as well as the operation of water purifying equipment, compressors and other related equipment is desirable.

License Requirement: Current Stationary Engineer’s License. Current Illinois Driver’s License.Certification as a Refrigeration Technician

2007 Salary: $77,896 per year
