Climb - and skate - at Maggie Daley Park!
The climbing walls at Maggie Daley Park are officially open for the season!
The two rock-climbing structures form Chicago's first and only Climbing Park, featuring a maximum height of 40 feet over a total surface area of 19,000 square feet. The wall is divided into a beginner and advanced wall with three different types of climbing: bouldering, lead-harnessed, and top rope.
And for the first time this year, kids and adults can rent rollerblades to skate around the ribbon that surrounds the climbing walls. Starting on Wednesday, for $12, patrons can rent rollerblades; the rental fee includes helmets and safety equipment. Scooters will also be available to rent at $8 for 30 minute intervals.
All first-time climbing participants must attend a certification class. Repeat climbers and boulderers, as well as patrons who bring their own equipment, are able to climb for a $7 daily fee. Once certified, climbers can rent equipment at the Maggie Daley Park Fieldhouse for $15. Certification pricing can be found here
