Tempers and temperatures start to rise in the summer of 1969 when a routine police raid on an underground Greenwich Village hotspot erupts in to a full-scale riot, the impetus of the modern gay rights movement. A live rock band provides the screaming soundtrack to this retelling of the epic night at The Stonewall Inn.
In addition to the matinee performance,a large-scale mural and outline of Greenwich Village will be featured in the north pavilion for patrons to "tour."
The north pavilion will also host a photo booth, where a photographer will to take pictures of visitors in front of the mural. These pictures will then be posted online.
Finally, live music ranging from 1960s-inspired soul to jazz to rock and roll will be performed either before or after the play in the south pavilion/cafe area.
