Mayor Emanuel, Chicago Park District Announce Fall Programming Registration to Begin on August 4

7/29/2014

Fall programs run from week of September 15 to week of December 1

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chicago Park District Superintendent Michael P. Kelly today announced that online registration for fall Park District programming begins on Monday, August 4

“Offering a variety of educational, athletic, cultural and community activities, the Park District offers programming for everyone, regardless of age, neighborhood or income level,” said Mayor Emanuel. “The fabric of community is woven together at our parks and the opportunities they provide, which is why I’m focused on investing in these neighborhood assets. From rebuilding or refurbishing 325 playgrounds in neighborhoods throughout the City to creating an urban oasis on Northerly Island to converting a former brownfield site into a new park in Little Village, we’re ensuring that every community has an anchor that provides a better quality of life for Chicago residents.”

Chicagoans can now view fall programs online and create a wish list of preferred programs. Online registration for fall programming, including after-school care, will take place over two days and in two different zones.

Residents can register online at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com for programs at parks located west of California beginning Monday, August 4 at 9 a.m. Online registration for programs at parks located east of California Avenue begins on Tuesday, August 5 at 9 a.m.

“The Chicago Park District is committed to providing quality programs, affordable prices and convenient locations to serve as many patrons as possible,” said Superintendent Kelly.

In-person registration begins either Saturday, Aug. 9 or Monday, Aug. 11 depending upon the park. To see when a particular park begins online and in-person registration, click here.

Fall programs run from the week of Sept. 15 to the week of Dec. 1, unless otherwise noted. The Park District works with residents to ensure that programming is affordable regardless of income level.
