Theater in the Parks

All the parks are a stage as hundreds of theatrical performances land in Chicago’s neighborhoods this season in a diverse offering of plays old and new, classic and contemporary. Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks returns for the fifth summer, bringing a free 75-minute abridged production of Twelfth Night.  Collaboraction presents Peacebook, cultivating new artists, audiences and community around a multidisciplinary arts festival that envisions a more peaceful Chicago. And while the Theater on the Lake facility is pending renovation, the show must go on, so the summer theater festival will hit the road for another year, showcasing the absolute best of Chicago’s off-Loop theater.
