Chicago Park District historian Julia S. Bachrach presents lectures on the recent publication of the second edition of her book, "The City in a Garden: A History of Chicago’s Parks". The first edition, published in 2001, garnered widespread praise. WTTW Channel 11 producer and program host Geoffrey Baer hails the new edition as “a book about Chicago treasures from an author who is a Chicago treasure herself.”

The Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance is hosting this important “bee-side” event, to share some compelling oral histories about bees and beekeeping. Come to this 5th annual public forum to hear stories, songs, and jeremiads from both seasoned and novice beekeepers. Whatever their experience, these folks got hooked on bees and beekeeping, and are eager to take a turn telling tales.
