The JazzCity free concert series is a collaboration between the Chicago Park District and the Jazz Institute of Chicago that initiated in 1997 and explores cultural connections in communities throughout Chicago.
The simple premise of the series is to connect people of all ethnicities and generations to the legacy (both musical and spiritual) of jazz in Chicago. We make it accessible by presenting it free of charge, and located right in the neighborhood. Jazz City is co-sponsored by Southwest Airlines.

Chicago Latin Jazz Festival: Celebrating Community through Culture.

The Chicago Latin Jazz Festival brings communities together to celebrate the history and tradition of Latin Jazz  music which combines rhythms from Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and the United States.
Expanded to TWO days this year to feature music, dance and art making in celebration of Latino traditions old and new. Music on Friday from 7pm - 9pm at the Boathouse and on Saturday, more music, mask making, parades, bombaso, and art activities from 2 pm - 8pm.

The Chicago Latin Jazz Festival is part of Chicago Jazz Festival's Neighborhood Nights and Chicago Park District's Night Out in the Parks.
