High Noon    Rated-NR     85 minutes

Gary Cooper stars in this classic Western as Hadleyville marshal Will Kane. He is about to retire from office and go on his honeymoon with his new Quaker bride, Amy (Grace Kelly). His plans are interrupted when the Miller gang, whose leader Will had arrested, is coming back into town. Despite Amy’s protests, Will feels he must stay and defend Hadleyville but no one in the town will help him. As the clock edges towards High Noon (the film is shot in real time) Kane walks to the center of town preparing for a showdown.

High Noon won four Academy Awards ®, (including Best Actor for Cooper) and Best Song for the hit, "Do Not Forsake Me, O My Darling," sung by Tex Ritter.

Presented by Charter One. Part of the Lakeside Cultural Series.
