Bird Count at Lincoln Nature

A Youth Winter Bird Count will take place in Lincoln Park for kids of all ages who are interested in learning about birds, birding, and braving the cold to count local wildlife in conjunction with a national citizen science project hosted by the Audubon Society. Binoculars will be available for use and are suggested, but not required. Participants can find parking along Cannon Drive and will meet at the front entrance to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 North Cannon Drive at 7:45 A.M. After a discussion of bird identification and birding techniques, participants will take a walk around North Pond and try to identify as many species as possible. Afterwards, hot chocolate and free admission will be provided at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Free admission will be provided only to registered participants and their parents.
