What you can expect from my classes:
A physically and mentally challenging military styled fitness training with the goal of increasing lean muscle, cardio fitness and mental toughness.

What I like best about the Park District’s fitness classes:
The flexibility in creating program design, numerous fitness disciplines available to teach, traveling, meeting and training Chicagoan’s throughout the city.

My education and certification:
U.S. Army (retired), Graduate of the Army Physical Fitness School (Master Fitness Trainer Course), Graduate of the “National Personal Training Institute.”

My specialty in fitness or nutrition and areas of expertise:
Resistance, Plyometric and core training.

My fitness philosophy:
Fitness Toughness = Mental Toughness.

Personal insight:
I teach and have taught numerous fitness classes in both the U.S. Army and civilian life, “However” my favorite is Kickboxing, I recently started teaching Kickboxing classes for the Chicago Park District and it is now my favorite class to teach.

I have seen Cardio Kickboxing classes before and was hesitant about teaching in that format, most of the moves are choreographed to music and I found it difficult for me instruct that way. I tweaked my kickboxing class to utilize my strengths without taking away from the core fitness components of cardio kickboxing, and enhancing it with new and more challenging training techniques.

I use focus mitts, boxing gloves and muay thai pads to give the patrons a more realistic feel during training which has been well received. I also use plyometrics, rope conditioning, core training and push up pyramids to compliment my kickboxing classes.
