Youth Chase Away Winter Doldrums While School Is Out at Citywide Park Camps Dec. 23-Jan. 3

12/19/2013

When school is out, the Chicago Park District will continue to keep youth safe and engaged with sports, cultural activities and more at citywide winter break camps.  Most camps will be in session Monday, Thursday, and Friday, Dec. 23-Jan. 3.  Parents can register online at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com or in-person at select locations.  Unless otherwise noted, camps are for children ages 6-12 and include sports and fitness, arts and crafts, games, and other activities.

“The Park District works with residents and families in all neighborhoods to ensure that programming is affordable so that every child has a safe place to play, learn and grow – even while school is out,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “Winter break camps at the Park District are perfect for families looking for ways to keep their kids’ minds and bodies active.”

“Like our signature summer day camp program, the Chicago Park District winter break camps offer children a safe place in their neighborhoods to socialize and stay active while school is out,” said Superintendent Kelly.
