Rosters must be submitted by July 20

After a 10-year hiatus, the Chicago Park District is proud to bring back the Annual 16” Co-Ed Adult Softball Tournament to Chicago’s parks. Sixteen-inch softball is a true Chicago tradition and staple, with many Chicagoans playing for more than 30 years. Adults,  ages 18 years old and up, as well as rookie players and veterans are invited to participate. The citywide tournament will be held at Humboldt Park, 1400 N. Humboldt Ave. on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Games start at 9 a.m.

Each registered, participating team will be permitted a 15-person max roster, and six (6) male, (4) female on the field break-out. The citywide, two-game guarantee tournament, can accommodate up to 16 teams.  The fee to register one team is $250. Rosters are due prior to coach meeting, on July 20. Players may only commit to one team.

The Park District hosted the first tournament at Humboldt Park in 2021, where 5 teams participated in a series of friendly games to win the coveted recognition of being Chicago’s Best in the sport. Each team sported a clever name and spent the day enjoying each other’s company. This year, the Phunky Buddhas, the team that took the 2021 tournament by storm, will be back to defend their title, and playing for the chance to win 100% off the 2023 tournament fees, backpacks with the tournament champion logo, a 1st place plaque and a team picture.
