Online registration begins August 16 and August 17

The Chicago Park District today announced that online registration for 2021 Fall Programs is open for parks west of California Ave., and continues tomorrow for parks east of California Ave. Most fall programs will start the week of September 7 and run through December 19, 2021.

This fall the District will offer in-person programming to provide residents with opportunities to stay active and engaged in a safe manner. Fall offerings include gymnastics, woodcraft, fitness, seasonal sports and more. Among this season’s offerings is our popular Park Kids after school program, which will be offered at various parks across the city. Participants will engage in safe, socially distant activities including arts and crafts, non-contact sports, wellness and nature activities. In conjunction with Chicago Public Schools’ return for the fall, our Park Kids afterschool program will begin on August 30, at most park locations. Aquatic classes will resume beginning the week of September 20.

“We welcome everyone to ‘Fall Back into the Parks,” said Chicago Park District General Superintendent and CEO Michael Kelly. “As fall approaches, we are looking forward to offering more in-person programs while continuing to make our parks safe and inviting for all.”

Classes will operate with static pods and stable cohorts. Program capacity is based on size of the facility in order to observe social distancing and other current public health guidelines. Fees for programs vary depending on location, offerings and hours. We maintain our commitment to put children first and not turn away anyone for inability to pay. Financial assistance is available. Given the popularity of programs, patrons are encouraged to browse through the list of available park programs, which are now available to view, and create a wish list before the start of registration.

Fall online registration at www.ChicagoParkDistrict.com is as follows:

•    Parks located WEST of California Ave. and all our virtual programs will begin registration Monday, August 16 at 9 a.m.
•    Parks located EAST of California Ave. will begin registration Tuesday, August 17 at 9 a.m.

Dependent on the number of program spots remaining, in-person registration will begin Saturday, August 21, at most park locations.

Online registration for park programs at McFetridge Sports Center, Morgan Park Sports Center, Addams Park, and Gately Park begins on Tuesday, August 24, followed by in-person registration on Saturday, August 28. Programs at these facilities run from the week of September 7 through October 31 (Fall Session 1).

American Sign Language, Cardio Line Dance, Kiddie College, Chair Exercise, and Bingo are a few of our popular virtual classes.
