The Chicago Park District hosted the Blue Line Bullseye Invitational Archery Competition for youth competitors. Four competitions for boys and girls were held throughout the day separated by ages of participants, 8-9 year of age, 10-12 years of age, 13-14 years of age, and 15-17 years of age. The archers who placed in the top three of their division earned an award for their scores. The event was held at Wicker Park Fieldhouse, 1425 N. Damen Ave., on Saturday, October 4.
Over twenty boys and girls competed in the tournament, representing five parks from across the city. Archery is offered at eight Chicago Park District locations throughout the year. These parks are Horner Park, Kilbourn Park, Gompers Park, Hamlin Park, Mozart Park, Revere Park, Pulaski Park, and Wicker Park. The competition features six targets and arrows will be shot from two distances. All rules and scoring are in accordance with the USA Archery Level One Instructor Archery Certification Course Handbook.
