The Chicago Park District is hosting the first-ever Day of Racial Healing events in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the day of observance. The events are intended for teens, families and all Chicagoans.
Two free events, Day of Racial Healing for Teens and Day of Racial Healing for Families, are taking place next week in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. These events include workshops, cultural performances, opportunities for community wide discussion, and more.
WHEN:
- January 19, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Day of Racial Healing for Teens
- January 21, 2026 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: Day of Racial Healing for Families
WHERE:
- Day of Racial Healing for Teens takes place at Maggie Daley Park, 337 E. Randolph St.
- Day of Racial Healing for Families will be hosted at Seward Park, 375 W. Elm St.
