Chicago Park District Neighborhood Ice Rinks Close for the Season February 17

SKATE WITH ROSES ON VALENTINE’S DAY, RINKS OFFER OPEN SKATE HOURS ON PRESIDENT’S DAY, FEB. 16, & CPS DAY OF NON-ATTENDANCE, FEB. 17

All five Chicago Park District neighborhood ice rinks will close for the season at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, weather permitting.

Chicagoans can take advantage of Valentine’s Day-themed skating events from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, and open skate holiday hours will be available from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at each rink on President’s Day, Monday, February 16, 2026, and Tuesday, February 17, 2026, a Chicago Public Schools Day of non-attendance. Maggie Daley Park Skating Ribbon will remain open through March 8, 2026, weather permitting. Registration is required and available at chicagoparkdistrict.com/ ice-rinks.

“Despite a particularly frigid ice skating season, patrons of all ages took the ice for unique events and exciting programs,” said General Superintendent and CEO Carlos Ramirez Rosa. “Ice skating is a timeless tradition for Chicagoans. Please join us this week to make more memories before ice rinks close for the season and we welcome spring.”

About Love is in the Air Valentine’s Day Skating Sessions

Celebrate love on the ice on February 14, 2026 at our Valentine’s Day themed skate event at five ice rinks from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Patrons can enjoy a romantic atmosphere with roses, sweet treats, and fun Polaroid photo ops to capture the moment. Patrons can also glide along to love songs and take advantage of half-priced skate rentals during the first skating session of the day.

Whether you're skating with your sweetheart, your bestie, or the whole family, it's a heartwarming way to spend the day on the ice!

About Holiday Hours: Open Skate

Admission to neighborhood ice rinks is free, and skate rentals cost $7.00 for skaters of all ages. Patrons are welcome to bring their own skates. Registration is required during open Skate hours.
