Highlights include investments in areas most in need
Today, the Chicago Park District released its 2023 budget recommendations ten days in advance of its public budget hearing as required by the District’s Code. The proposed $545 million budget represents a fiscally responsible and balanced plan that prioritizes the needs of Chicago’s children and families. The District hosted its public budget hearing in September and three regional community forums where residents and other stakeholders shared valuable input on their parks. The 2023 budget recommendations reflect the public comments and suggestions provided.
Chicago Park District General Superintendent & CEO Rosa Escareño will present the 2023 budget recommendations during a public budget hearing to be held Wednesday, November 16th at 11am at Columbus Park Fieldhouse, 500 S. Central Ave. The Park District Board of Commissioners will vote on the 2023 budget recommendations during its regular monthly meeting on December 14th.
