All are invited to celebrate the season with pumpkin patches, trunk or treats, haunted houses and other boo-tiful adventures
CHICAGO, IL – The weather is dropping, leaves are changing colors, and the Chicago Park District is hosting events all over the city to celebrate the fall season. This October, the Park District invites park patrons of all ages to celebrate the fall season with a harvest of events designed to get the community into the spirit.
This year’s event highlights are traditional fall favorites including pumpkin patches, haunted houses, trunk or treats and campfire horror movie nights. In addition to the annual events, some parks will host Fall Fests, Boo-tiful Adventures and Halloween Arts and Crafts workshops. All are welcome to attend these family-friendly events. Most events are offered for free or at a minimal cost.
“Fall is ramping up in the parks and we’re thrilled to bring the community together for another season of fun,” said General Superintendent and CEO Carlos Ramirez-Rosa. “From our youngest trunk-or-treater to families looking for fall activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and celebrate fall in the parks.”
This year, the Campfire Horrors outdoor movie series is doubling the number of screenings. Every Friday and Saturday in October (except for Saturday, October 31), select parks will screen a spooky film with campfires for roasting marshmallows.
The full schedule of Fall and Halloween events can be found at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/halloween and below. Additional events will be added throughout the month. We encourage patrons to check the our website for regular updates.
Halloween in the Parks is sponsored by Mars. Mars will provide free candy at our Halloween in the Parks events.
