"Celebrating Peruvian Independence through Arts” features an immersive and breathtaking showcase of dance, choreography, and heritage
CHICAGO, IL - Since 2018, the Center of Peruvian Arts has brought culture and tradition to the stage in an incredible showcase for all ages. Audiences will be treated to Indigenous, Afro-Peruvian, and Amazonian music and dance in this 45-minute performance. Costumes, bombastic sequences, and even stuffed animals ensure this is a show not to be missed.
More than just a performance, this event also features a dance workshop open to all park patrons and Peruvian food, immersing participants even further into the strong roots of the country. Through these offerings, “Celebrating Peruvian Independence through Arts” brings accessible programming to parks and continues its mission of preserving and sharing Peruvian cultural heritage.

The Chicago Park District’s 14th season of Night Out in the Parks showcases hundreds of artists throughout the city during the summer. History of Night Out in the Parks
Launched in the summer of 2013, Night Out in the Parks brings world-class arts performances, including theater, dance and live music to neighborhood parks across the city providing residents with access to world-class cultural opportunities. Park neighborhood activations foster a long-time appreciation for the arts and parks among diverse audiences and continue to create safe spaces for entertainment and educational experiences to thrive throughout the year. Since its inception, Night Out in the Parks has provided thousands of hours of safe, diverse, and unique arts programming with yearly grant support from the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE).
