Register online through Wed., August 21

The Chicago Park District invites active adults, age 50 and older, to participate in the Senior Games August 26-September 27, 2019 at various citywide parks.

Festivities kick off Monday, August 26 at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies at Maggie Daley Park, 337 E. Randolph St.  Athletes will partake in the ceremonial lighting of the cauldron, a fun walk, yoga session and recreational line dancing. 

“The Senior Games are an annual tradition that we are proud to continue to host at parks citywide,” said Chicago Park District General Superintendent and CEO Michael Kelly. “This is just one of the many recreational events that the Chicago Park District offers to keep residents of all ages and abilities active and engaged in our neighborhood parks.”

The sporting competitions take place at various Chicago Park District sites and include pickle ball, tennis, bocce, track and field, horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, basketball, badminton, bowling, swimming, line dancing, golf, a 5K bike race, and much more.

The games close Friday, September 27 with an awards ceremony at the South Shore Cultural Center, 7059 S. South Shore Dr.  An outing to Guaranteed Rate Field for a Chicago White Sox game, Fishing Derby on the Anita Dee Yacht Charter, and a game of Loteria (Spanish bingo) are also scheduled. 

Seniors who are residents of the City of Chicago, over 50 years old and are in good physical health are encouraged to register.  Interested seniors can register online here.  Advance registration is required. Seniors may register through Wednesday, August 21, 2019. There will be no on-site registration for events on competition days.
