The Chicago Park District is excited to host the 9th Annual Valor Games Midwest August 17-19, 2021. Valor Games Midwest is a free three-day Paralympic sport competition for disabled veterans and wounded, ill or injured service members. The event celebrates sport as a means of empowering individuals and strengthening community. Beyond competition, the Valor Games connects athletes with ongoing sports opportunities and resources in their local communities.
Tuesday, August 17 at Soldier Field, 1410 Museum Campus Dr.

- Cycling, Wilson lot just north of the Wilson track (4400 N. Lake Shore Drive)
Thursday, August 19 at McKinley Park, 2210 W. Pershing Rd.

This is an introductory-level competition, no previous experience is required to participate. Disabilities Include:
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Visual Impairment or Blind
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Hearing Loss
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Shrapnel Injury
- Other orthopedic impairment
Athletes will have the opportunity to compete in discus, shot put, cycling, archery, powerlifting, indoor rowing, biathlon and table tennis. All eligible athletes are encouraged to apply, however priority in this year’s games will be given to athletes that live in the Midwest Region of the United States, including: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. All athletes must apply to be eligible to compete in the games. The application will close July 16, 2021. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status on or before July 23, 2021.
