Spring Flower Shows are Planted and Set to Bloom Soon at Lincoln and Garfield Park Conservatories

“JEWELS OF SPRING” & “SHOWERS OF FLOWERS” HIGHLIGHT THE COMPLEXITY OF DIFFERENT PLANTS AND FLOWERS; OFFER A REMINDER THAT WARMER DAYS ARE AHEAD

CHICAGO— Forget what Punxsutawney Phil predicted, spring is arriving in full bloom, at least indoors, as the Chicago Park District prepares to open the annual spring flower shows at Lincoln Park and Garfield Park Conservatories. The shows will run Valentine’s Day through Mother’s Day- Saturday, February 14 through Sunday, May 10. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the spring plants and flowers at both conservatories no matter the weather. The Lincoln Park Conservatory located at 2391 N. Stockton Dr., will host “Jewels of Spring,” and the flower display at the Garfield Park Conservatory, located at 300 N. Central Park Ave., will be titled “Showers of Flowers.”

“Spring is a time of renewal, and both Spring Flower Shows highlight the beauty, creativity and diversity of plants that thrive during this time,” said General Superintendent and CEO Carlos Ramirez-Rosa. “We invite the public to step out of the cold, dreary weather and reconnect with nature at both shows designed to brighten their day.”

Visitors are in for a treat. Each conservatory offers a unique interpretation of the spring with seasonal favorites like daffodils, tulips, lupines and snapdragons featured in both shows. Whether it’s snowing, sleeting or below zero outside, when visitors walk into each show, they will be instantly transported to an oasis filled with colorful flowers and thriving pants that promote serenity and well-being.

Pre-registration is required for both shows. For more information, visit chicagoparkdistrict.com/conservatory-flower-shows.

Jewels of Spring at Lincoln Park Conservatory

The 2026 spring flower show at the Lincoln Park Conservatory, “Jewels of Spring,” highlights the amazing flowers of the Tower of Jewels, also known as Echium or Pride of Madeira. It’s a dramatic, colorful plant which grows flower spikes that are two to three feet tall.  Accompanying these gems are a host of our favorite spring beauties, tulips such as ‘Gold Rush’ and ‘Flaming Flag’, ‘4D Violet Ice’ African daisies, Cymbidium Orchids, Delphinium ‘Cobalt Dreams’, and Primula ‘Wild Flame Shades’.  All are planted against a backdrop of our treasured camelias, azaleas, peonies, and hydrangeas.

The Lincoln Park Conservatory is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Showers of Flowers at Garfield Park Conservatory

Join us this spring for “Showers of Flowers,” the 2026 spring flower show at the Garfield Park Conservatory. “Showers of Flowers” highlights more than 80 hanging baskets that demonstrate vertical possibilities for your green thumb!  The baskets will feature trailing vines, like ivy and sweet potato, bushy asparagus ferns, and colorful flowers like pansies, petunia, and calibrachoa.  Let the beauty rain down upon you while you enjoy ground plantings, including seasonal favorites such as daffodils, tulips, lupines, cymbidium orchids, astilbe, snapdragons, and ranunculus, against a backdrop of azaleas, camellias, and hydrangea.

The Garfield Park Conservatory is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday through Sunday and 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.
