I am deeply saddened by the loss of a visionary, a Chicago pioneer, a dear friend and truly a great man.
Dr. Worrill was tireless in his life’s work. In our long and profound conversations, he provided a look back at history, and a perspective of the challenges faced, overcome and still present. He pushed the Chicago Park District to think big and creatively.
The soon to be opened 139,000 square foot Track and Field Center at Gately Park on the South Side was his vision – one of new opportunity and growth for Chicago’s youth. There, his teachings will come to life and his legacy will be honored.
Dr. Conrad Worrill meant so much to our city. We are monumentally better today for having had him, yet profoundly hurt by his loss. God bless him and his family.
