It’s time for dormant tree pruning at the Community Roots Demonstration Garden. Join us while we prune fruit trees for disease management and higher-quality fruit set. We will show you how to use our favorite pruning tools to remove water sprouts, suckers, and dead/diseased/damaged branches. We will demonstrate shaping cuts for higher quality fruit set and ripening, including how to use a handy tool for determining how much fruit a branch can support without breaking. We will also discuss typical pests/diseases for our region, and when and how to manage them using organic treatments.

Masks must be worn and social distancing must be observed by all participants at all times.
