Description
While many environmental conservation programs focus on what homeowners can do on their property, there is a lot of opportunity for neighbors to help their communities build resilience against climate change by employing similar techniques in community gardens. For the past twenty years, the Community Gardens in the Parks program has allowed organized groups of volunteers to independently build and manage gardens on park land. In this workshop, we will discuss opportunities and resources for community garden groups to implement climate-resilience strategies in current and future gardens to better manage stormwater, sequester carbon, and provide forage and overwintering habitat for pollinators. This project is supported by generous funding from ComEd and Openlands.Add to Calendar
