Due to weather, this event will move INDOORS to Sheridan Park, 910 S. Aberdeen St. Join Ochin Pakhi for an enchanting evening of Bengali folk songs, featuring the rich traditions of Baul, Fakiri, Sufi, Kirtan, Jhumur, Bhatiyali, Rabindra Sangeet, and Nazrul Geeti genres. Our performances will include original translations and delicate improvisations, enhanced by the expressive dance of an Indian artist using mudras or symbolic gestures, making the performance more understandable and appealing to the audience. The blend of traditional and Western instruments, along with the captivating voices of two singers from West Bengal, will create a mesmerizing experience. We invite the audience to participate in call-and-response songs celebrating diversity and fostering community engagement.
