Admission is free at fitness centers, most fitness classes & lap swims during Free Fitness Week.  With dozens of fitness centers, hundreds of fitness classes and more than 20 parks that offer lap swim times, there are a variety of ways at locations throughout the city to get your new year off to a healthy start.  Registration is required, online or in-person at the park.  Advance registration, especially for the most popular classes, is encouraged.  All activities are first-come, first-serve based on availability. Some exclusions apply.  Lap swim session hours and times vary by park.  See below.

Chicago Park District fitness centers offer a high-quality, low-cost alternative to private gyms. These centers feature state-of-the-art equipment such as computerized treadmills, cross trainers, upright and recumbent bikes, free weights and benches, cable cross-overs, multi-station weight machines and core-focused weight equipment.

After a free week of fitness, sign up for a membership!
  • Monthly, 3-Month & Annual session passes are available for purchase at any time – valid from the date of purchase. Fees range from $30-$60 for a 3-Month session pass, a fraction of the cost of commercial gyms.
  • Gold Card – allows access to all Park District fitness centers throughout the city.
FREE WATER BOTTLE & TOWEL - patrons who purchase a FITNESS CENTER MEMBERSHIP (any level of membership: Month, 3 Month, Year) during Free Fitness Week (Jan. 8-14, 2018) will receive a water bottle & towel onsite at the park of purchase (only). Patron must either make membership purchase onsite, or present a receipt of fitness center membership purchase made during Jan. 8-14, 2018 to park supervisor to obtain water bottle & towel.
